Setting in beat

With the pendulum fitted, wind the springs if necessary and start the clock.

Check that the intervals between the ticks are equal. If not, you can rotate the whole movement very slightlu until the ticks are even. Now tighten the screws on the back.

When doing this, move the clock very gently, not only because you might damage the delicate escapement with the swinging pendulum, but because moving a clock in this way can alter the beat. If this happens, loosen the screws, adjust the movement again and retighten.
